We are a small team of dynamic trainers with many years of experience. We love learning about dogs so are always working to improve our own knowledge, which we then pass on to our customers. We train the dog in front of us, we strongly believe no one training method fits all dogs. So we use and wide range of approaches and techniques to get the best results.

Specialist area of dog training:
ScentWork, Mantrailing, Obedience, K9 laser and reactivity cases.

Philosophies, any strong beliefs:
You’re never too old to learn something new! Every day is a school day. No two dogs are the same, they should be all treated or trained to suit the dogs individual needs!

Qualifications/experience,
Over 40 years of experience of being around dogs and training dogs, from pet dogs to operational military dogs. I have multiple qualifications in training dogs. However, my real experience comes from hands on work with lots of different types of dogs over the years and my willingness to learn and adapt.

Best part of my day-
When the dog looks at its owners and you can see that the dog thinks it’s the owners is the best thing since sliced bread! Also the look of surprise on an owner’s face when they see what their dog is capable of. Spending quality time with my dogs.

A bit about me and my life with dogs-
I grew up surrounded by lots of dogs. I got my very own puppy at the age of 9 she was “Cindy” a lovely Rough Collie (I loved Lassie growing up!). We enrolled in a puppy class held at the local community hall, on our first visit Cindy ran away and made her way back home without me! On our 2nd visit the trainer made fun of me for losing my dog and wouldn’t really help me or Cindy because of my age! We persevered, mainly because I knew Cindy could be the next Lassie, if given a chance and I could be a better trainer than the one that laughed at us! This inspired me to be a dog trainer, and to help as many dogs/owners as possible.

My dogs
Bruno GSP, recused retired now, but he was an exceptional mantrailing dog.
Molly Sprocker, Trained on Drugs/cash/ and Storm Petrels (birds) and does mantrailing. Storm Belgium Shepherd (Malinois), trained on Electric storage devices/cash and Storm Petrel (birds). Bonnie English Springer Spaniel Trained in bed bugs.

Philosophies, any strong beliefs Make sure you get your pups out to see the world! Dogs do not need to speak to every person or dog they just need to know how to behave around them.

Qualifications/experience
I have always had dogs grown up and enjoyed training them. Friends and family then asked me to help them with their dogs.
ITG Pet First Aid Instructor Level 3 (VTQ) Certificate in Canine Nutrition, Certificate in Canine Anatomy Peddymark microchipped trained

An example of the best part of your day?
Spending time with my dogs. Also watching dog were that is my own or dogs that come in problem solve and how quick they pick thing up.
If possible, a dog story. I have grown up with rescue dogs and have had everything from Heinze 57 to German and Belgium Shepherds. 2 of those dogs were every noise sensitive and fire work night was always a challenge. For the pass 20 years I have shown and bred my German Shepherds they can all do some kind of nose work.

Who are your dogs?
It would take me all day to tell you about all my dogs ( I have 7 German Shepherds and 3 Pointers and hopefully a ESS joining me in 2023 too) and I would be happy too but I have been told to keep it short. Jac is my home bred German Shepherd who is 4 and half years. Jac was my operational standard mantriling dog but is now retired due to an injury (non mantriling). Jac doesn’t like to be left out so you will now see him helping out in the 1st aid classes and will happily let you bandage him for a cuddle.

Mayzee is my ¾ German Wired Haired Pointer ¼ Labrador I bought her as a 10 week old puppy in April 2022 my hope is to do conservation detection work. Mayzee started doing scentwork 48 hours after I got her and has been my demo dog in scentwork intro since she was 12 weeks old.

Stan is my Pointer x Springer got him as an 8 month old Halloween 2022. Stan is my 2nd chance I’m his fourth home. I got Stan to work along side Mayzee as a conservation detection dog.

Gunner is my German Shorthaired Pointer I got Gunner in October 2021 at 7 month old. Once Gunner gets to know you, he loves nothing more than to lean on you for a cuddle. He has a great nose on him and one day I hope to use him as a detection dog but will take it all at Gunner’s pace.

Favourite sayings / beliefs
“Trust Your Dog” They are usually the one in the team who know whats going on

Best part about Mantrailing / instructing
The little things that make a difference to someone, whether it’s a small suggestion that makes something click into place or an explanation of whats going on that then makes it seem obvious. I think the more you understand mantrailing the more you enjoy it.
My background

I got my working line Border Collie Ash in 2021 and by the time he was 6 months old he needed a job !! I took him to an intro to mantrailing with Simon and seeing Ash work changed the game for me, it was what he was meant to do. Almost 3 years on and with my thirst for knowledge and my previous instructing background I enjoy being able to help other people get the same enjoyment from mantrailing that I do.

My dogs
Ash- 3 year old border collie. Mantrailing dog and trainee search and rescue dog. Will work for cuddles.

Lola- 3 year old border collie. mantrailing for fun and trainee air scenting search and rescue dog. Would do anything for a ball
